For the birds!

I loved teaching the second graders about birds. We first learned what makes a bird? Then we studied their life cycle. It was great to have this piece of artwork to show their life cycle. Finally, I had them use books to find their favorite species. We also read the book " A Nest Full of Eggs."

This is a bulletin board from my Kindergarten student teaching. I love it! During our friendship unit, I taught that the first person we need to truly like is ourselves. I read the book "I like me!" which is about an adorable pig. Then, during centers, each child painted a self portrait. Then we put all of them into the Friend "ship" ! I love it!!!!
